1080 GLH (1495 TQT) Equivalent in size to three A Levels.
15 units of which 8 are mandatory and 3 are external.

External assessment (33%).

Purpose:

This qualification has been designed as a two-year, full-time course that meets entry requirements in its own right for learners wanting to progress to employment in aeronautical/ aerospace engineering, for example in aerospace manufacturing or as a systems fitter or aircraft maintenance operative. Learners gain relevant skills and knowledge from studying a range of units, for example in aircraft workshop principles, microcontrollers, calculus, gas turbine engines, airframe construction and
first-line maintenance. Progression could be either directly to employment in Level 3 job roles, higher apprenticeship programmes or via higher education courses in engineering.

Secondary School Certificate (Science Group) / O Level / Equivalent
